I still have not come to grip with the fact that one day I can run 6 miles at a 9:30 pace and then the next day I run the same distance at a 8:30 pace.   Even after several glances at my Garmin that shows the pace and telling myself to “slow down, it is only a simple training run”, I still ran a fast training pace.   Maybe it was the cold wind?  Maybe it was what was on my mind that was making me run faster?   I have no idea.  I guess I should be happy that I ran a fast pace and the more times that happens it is improvement, so I should simply not worry about it.  Be happy about the improvement and simply go run.  I think I have been told that before.   I just hope that on race days the fast pace version of me shows up and not the “go faster you slow poke” version.

  1. No worries! You\’ll be fine on race day. Everyday you run you\’re improving.. and if everyday you love what you\’re doing, you\’ll continue to improve!
