Bayshore Marathon 2007 #2 – Race Morning

The alarm was set for 4AM but my eyes opened at around 3:30AM all ready to go.  I did try to get a few minutes more of sleep but I was unsuccessful.  The weather forecast showed 52 degrees, a perfect temperature for the start of the race.  After getting ready I met with all of the other TNT marathon runners in the hotel lobby, the half marathoners met earlier and had already left since they needed to be bused to their starting line.  After some morning greetings we all headed to the start area.  At the start area I took advantage of the no bathroom lines, a plus when you get to the start area early, and then hung out looking for a fellow runner from Indiana that was planning on running with us.  Miranda and I stumbled upon each other’s blog sites and since she had a similar goal time for the marathon as I did I invited her to run with us.  We easily found each other near the starting area and the small group of us that were planning on running a sub 4 hour marathon hung out near the starting line waiting for the gun to go off.
